THE ADDICT update and apology

October 31, 2014

I am soooo late on this book coming out and that really sucks. If it was me being lazy or overstretching myself work-wise, then I would feel even worse. But in all honesty, it isn’t that. My 10 yr old son has been fighting a severe medical issue since 2010 but he reached crisis mode several times, most recently this past July. Every ounce of energy I have to spare (and many days, some ounces I just don’t have but don’t have a choice on) go into keeping him healthy. Or at least healthy enough to survive.

I won’t whine and moan about personal things but he has no less than 4 appointments a week and has since mid-summer. Some weeks are far worse than others but the minimum never changes. My first priority has to be keeping him alive. I hope every person whom I’ve disappointed can understand that.

THE ADDICT will be published and ASAP, I swear. I realize I may have lost numerous readers because of this delay. After all, I am *NOT* G. R. R. Martin nor am I writing Game of Thrones. But I will not put out a slapped together shitty story because of a time issue. That is not fair to readers or the the characters. My worlds are complicated and do require a lot of fact-checks and plot-hole story searches. I won’t compromise on those.

So I push on and HOPE that some of you will still be interested in Rex’s tale when it comes out. I do also plan on writing/releasing the rest of the 6 book series. In order and complete. Hang in there with me.

  1. While I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series I can certainly understand that you’re son’s health takes precedence. Best wishes on his recovery and I’ll look forward to the next books when you have time write them. I certainly wouldn’t want you to rush through a story just to release it when your mind is on much more important things. 🙂

  2. You do not ever need to apologize when it comes to family issues for being delayed. Family is always #1 in my life, and to be honest, it makes me a more committed fan to know you are attending your son’s needs first. Thoughts, prayers and hopes are sent your and your son’s way.
